Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Loading Master to oversee and manage the loading and unloading operations of cargo vessels. The Loading Master will be responsible for ensuring that all loading activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry regulations and company policies. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of cargo operations.

  • Operational Oversight:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for all loading and unloading operations, ensuring smooth coordination between ship and shore personnel.
    • Perform Pre-Cargo Operation Meeting
    • Supervise and manage the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
    • Act as a Terminal Representative on board the vessel.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies during loading operations.
    • Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments prior to loading and unloading activities, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of cargo operations, including loading and discharge quantities, quality control checks, and any incidents or irregularities.
    • Complete all necessary documentation, including ISGOTT.
  • Communication and Coordination:

    • Liaise with ship crew, terminal operators, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the loading/unloading process.
    • Address any operational issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or Nautical Science.
  • Second Officer or Second Engineer Certificates or Higher Rank
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cargo operations, with a focus on loading and unloading processes.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Proficient in using cargo management software and other relevant tools.
  • Valid STCW certification and other relevant maritime certifications.
