Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oil Tanker Cargo Superintendent to oversee and manage the loading, transportation, and discharge of liquid cargoes. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies while optimizing operational efficiency and maintaining high standards of quality.

  • Cargo Operations Management:

    • Supervise and coordinate all cargo operations, including loading, discharging, and transfer of oil products.
    • Ensure that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Monitor compliance with international maritime regulations, including MARPOL, SOLAS, and local laws.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Communication and Coordination:

    • Liaise with ship crews, port authorities, and terminal operators to ensure smooth cargo operations.
    • Provide clear instructions and guidance to onboard personnel regarding cargo handling procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of cargo operations, including loading and discharge quantities, quality reports, and incident reports.
    • Ensure timely submission of all required documentation to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving:

    • Address and resolve any operational issues or discrepancies that may arise during cargo operations.
    • Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.

Qualification Requirements

    • Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related field.
      • Minimum 3 years of experience in cargo operations, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
      • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and safety standards.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a dynamic environment.
      • Fluent in English verbal and written
      • Valid STCW certification and other relevant maritime certifications.
